CHIN 2140 - Advanced Chinese I

3.0 Credit Hours
This is the first semester of a two-semester sequence in advanced modern standard Chinese (“Mandarin”). This course is designed for students who have taken three years of Chinese language (or equivalence), and have a basic foundation on Chinese phonetics, characters, and grammars. In order to help students develop their communicative competence in the four basic skills, the 5C’s (Communication, Cultures, Comparisons, Connections, and Communities) will be integrated consistently into the content and exercises in the course

Prerequisite(s): CHIN 2131 (Minimum Grade: D) or instructor permission

Satisfies a Graduation Requirement: Humanities
