MCIS 1714 - Computer Programming Fundamentals

4.0 Credit Hours
Computer Programming Fundamentals is an introductory course that aims to give students a strong foundation in the fundamentals of object-oriented programming (OOP). The methodical creation of programs is emphasized in this course, along with methods for testing, debugging, and documentation. This course provides a thorough exploration of basic computer science concepts and techniques, and is designed for beginners with little to no programming experience. This course combines lecture and laboratory instruction. Lectures, reading assignments, challenge activities, quizzes, and projects are used to convey concepts. During a laboratory section, students are given specific time to work on their programming assignments and ask questions about their code. This Course will be taught using Python Programming language.

Prerequisite(s): MATH 1220 (Minimum Grade: D) or permission of the instructor
