MTH 061 - Calculus A

.50 High School Credits
Covers limits and derivatives using symbolic, tabular, graphical, and verbal notations. Studies derivatives of algebraic, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, and inverse trigonometric functions. Utilizes the product, quotient, chain rules for derivatives as well as implicit differentiation.  Considers applications of derivatives including related rates, optimization, curve sketching, velocity and acceleration, and function analysis (first derivative test, tests for concavity). Includes the mean value theorem and intermediate value theorem.

Prerequisite(s): MTH 044 (Minimum grade: D)
