MTH 033 - Algebra 2A

.50 High School Credits
The Algebra 2 course continues the development begun in Algebra 1. Linear equations and inequalities, including systems, are explored in depth. Simplifying expressions with exponents and radicals is stressed. Operations on polynomials (especially quadratics) is highlighted, with an emphasis on factoring. Functions, complex numbers, right triangle trigonometry and exponential functions are introduced. Basic geometric concepts are discussed.

Prerequisite(s): MTH 021/022 (Minimum grade: D).

Satisfies a Graduation Requirement: Math/Math Residency
When Offered: Fall
Note: NMMI graduates must successfully pass one year of NMMI mathematics at the Algebra 2 level or above.
