Communications (9.0 credits)
ENGL 1110 (required with a grade of “C” or better), a second English course and COMM 1113.
Plus 3.0 hours from one of the following English courses:
ENGL 2210 (Professional & Technical Communication) is preferred
Plus 3.0 hours in a Public Speaking course:
History (3.0 credits)
Any course with the HIST designation except for American Military History.
Humanities or Modern Language (6.0 credits)
A student must take 6.0 hours in humanities. A course used in another core area cannot be used to meet the humanities requirement (e.g. An advanced English course used in the English core, like American Literature I, may not be used here to meet the Humanities core course requirement at the same time).

Laboratory Science (12.0 credits)
Three lab science courses are required, two of which must be sequential.
And one from the following:
Cadet may take one from the list below or another laboratory science from the list above.
Mathematics (6.0 credits)
Two mathematics courses are required with MATH 1150 being the minimum allowable course.
Social & Behavioral Sciences (3.0 credits)
One non-history social science course.
Creative & Fine Arts (3.0)
Cadet must complete a minimum of 3.0 hours in Creative & Fine Arts. Please note, some courses within this area are less than 3.0 hours.
Military Science/Leadership (2.0 to 12.0 credits)
Students may take one semester of LEAD 1103 (Introduction to Leadership) or Military Science (MSL) each semester to satisfy the Leadership graduation requirement. A contract cadet will take a maximum of 12.0 class hours of MS and 4.0 credits of physical activity. Cadets may take MS 1 and 2 to prepare for ROTC at a 4-year school.
