CHIN 2124 - Intermediate Chinese II Intermediate Chinese II is the second year Chinese language course for students who initially had no background in Chinese and successfully completed both semesters of Beginning Chinese. This course fulfills part of the Humanities graduation requirement. Intermediate Chinese II continues the study of basic vocabulary and grammar topics and the development of the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students should be able to communicate at an intermediate level using the basic vocabulary and grammar covered up to this point and should be able to understand and produce paragraph-length or longer passages. Students who successfully complete this course should be prepared to continue with third year courses and major in Chinese at their next school. Additionally, students will gain insight into the language-learning process and the importance of possessing accurate cultural background information about the native speakers of other languages. The prerequisite for this course is successful completion of CHIN 2113 or departmental placement. This course includes a lab.
