Superintendent’s Message

As a military school, New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) is about developing the “whole person.” Our vision is to produce leaders who are capable of critical thinking and sound analysis, leaders who have uncompromising integrity and leaders who can meet the demanding physical challenges of those who choose to lead. Should you choose to attend NMMI, you will be challenged in each of these areas on a daily basis.

Our high school program prepares cadets to attend the best colleges in the country, while our college program enables cadets to satisfy college general education requirements and concentrate in areas that will provide a “head start” toward completion of a bachelor’s degree in specialized areas. Our high school students may choose to do the first two years of college at NMMI, before transferring to a four-year college or university. Our college students, with careful preparation, can go on to other colleges and complete their degrees in two additional years or remain at NMMI to complete a bachelor’s degree in business leadership from New Mexico State University. Regardless of the options chosen, NMMI is all about preparing cadets for expanded opportunities.

A significant testament to our “whole person” development is our service academy prep program. Each year NMMI sends 75-100 Foundation Scholars and selfpreps to our five federal service academies, each of which is among the top universities of higher education in our country. If you desire a quality education and challenging leadership, character, and physical development, NMMI is for you!
