Service Academy Preparatory Program

NMMI participates as a receiving school for the service academy preparatory programs. The non-profit Foundations from the Air Force, US Military Academy, and the Naval Academy sponsor qualified students to attend NMMI for one year and participate fully in both the academic program and the Corps of Cadets. NMMI also supports a similar program with the Merchant Marine Academy. Following a successful year at NMMI, these cadets may receive appointments to the academies.

This is a one-year program designed to prepare the service academy preparatory cadet seeking admission to a service academy.

and one other non-developmental English course

Laboratory Sciences

Two to four lab science courses depending on the service academy

CHEM 1214 - General Chemistry I
CHEM 1224 - General Chemistry II
USCGA, USNA, and USMMA additional requirement
PHYS 1114 - General Physics I
PHYS 1124 - General Physics II

Physical Education

2 courses in Prep PE

Military Science

2 courses

Mathematics

2 courses generally pre-calculus or higher

Electives

as necessary for the 32 hour minimum credit load
USAFA and USMA generally history and/or psychology
