English (6.0 credits)
ENGL 1113 (required with a grade of “C” or better) and one of the following courses to meet 6.0 credit requirement. Plus 3.0 hours from one of the following:
ENGL 2113 (Technical Writing) is preferred History (3.0 credits)
Any course with the HIST designation except for American Military History (HIST 2313). Humanities or Modern Language (6.0 credits)
For the AS degree a student must take a year of a foreign language (8.0 credits) or a specific humanities course or combination of the two to meet this requirement. A student must take 6.0 to 8.0 credits in humanities. A course used in another core area cannot be used to meet the humanities requirement, e.g. an advanced English course used in the English GenEd core (ENGL 2323) may not be used here as a humanities GenEd core at the same time. This requirement may be met by a language course:

Laboratory Science (12.0 credits)
Three lab science courses are required, two of which must be sequential. And one from the following:
Cadet may take one from the list below or another laboratory science from the list above. However, courses below level of sequential courses are not allowed. Mathematics (6.0 credits)
Two mathematics courses are required with MATH 1113 (College Algebra) being the minimum allowable course. Social Science (3.0 credits)
One non-history social science course. Military Science/Leadership (2.0 to 12.0 credits)
Cadets may take military science at NMMI. A contract cadet will take a maximum of 12.0 class hours of MS and 4.0 credits of physical activity. Cadets may take MS 1 and 2 to prepare for ROTC at a 4-year school. Effective Fall 2014, students may take one semester of LEAD 1103 (Introduction to Leadership) or MSL each semester to satisfy the Leadership graduation requirement. NOTE: Fall 2014 returning cadets are exempt from the Leadership requirement. Non-Contract Military Science Courses
