BIO 023 - Genetics, Genomics and Genethics


High school Biology 023 is a one semester course, which awards 0.5 units of credit toward high school graduation. The curriculum is aligned with the National Science Standards. This course explores recent developments in the field of genetics while developing an organizational structure for thinking about ethical issues. Molecular biology, history of genetics, literature research and biotechnology lab techniques will be used to help understand the how genomes can be decoded and manipulated.
Prerequisite: the completion of BIO 021.
